The present invention relates to the use of compounds for the manufacture of a medicament for the prophylaxis and/or treatment of induced cell toxicity, such as nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity, in particular where the cell toxicity is induced by a medical treatment. In a preferred embodiment the compounds have at least two nitrogen atoms, more preferably at least two amino groups. The compounds according to the invention are capable of blocking binding of cell toxic compounds to the megalin receptor, and thereby inhibiting uptake of the cell toxic compounds into cells. The invention further relates to novel compounds for use in said treatment, as well as a method for reducing the cell toxicity of cell toxic compounds, more particularly gentamicin.
La présente invention concerne l'utilisation de composés dans la fabrication d'un médicament destinée à la prophylaxie et/ou au traitement de la toxicité cellulaire induite, telle que la néphrotoxocité ou que l'ototoxicité, en particulier lorsque la toxicité cellulaire est induite par un traitement médical. Dans un mode préféré de réalisation de l'invention les composés possèdent au moins deux atomes d'azote, et de préférence au moins deux groupes amino. Les composés de cette invention sont capables de bloquer la liaison de composés toxiques pour les cellules au récepteur mégaline et, d'inhiber ainsi l'admission de ces composés toxiques pour les cellules dans les cellules. Cette invention concerne aussi de nouveaux composés destinés à ce traitement ainsi qu'une technique permettant de réduire la toxicité cellulaire de composés toxiques pour les cellules
