Abstract Use of a copolymer for the preparation of aqueous emulsions Copolymers which have been prepared by copolymerization of long-chain .alpha.-olefins with olefinically unsaturated acids and esters and, if appropriate, vinyl-aromatic compounds are particularly suitable for economical preparation of aqueous emulsions. The emulsions are suitable as care agents for flooring, automobiles, furniture and leather and for hydrophobizing, for treat- ment of textiles, for coating glass, for anticorrosive preservation, for example of automobiles, as facade protection and for sealing concrete.
