The present invention relates to a method of amelioring oxidative stress and stress-related degenerative processes associated with aging or various disease conditions such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases or the dysregulation of redox-regulated physiological processes, as indicated by the prooxidative shift in the plasma thil/disulfide redox state and its consequences in conditions of elevated oxidative stress, characterized by administering creatine.
