This invention relates to a method of preventing stroke or reducing the risk of stroke in a patient in need thereof, especially in a patient at risk for a stroke or a secondary stroke, using dipyridamole in combination with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and an angiotensin II antagonist, corresponding pharmaceutical compositions, and the use of dipyridamole for the manufacture of a corresponding pharmaceutical composition comprising a combination of dipyridamole, acetyl salicylic acid and an angiotensin II antagonist.

Cette invention a trait à une méthode permettant de prévenir les accidents cérébro-vasculaires chez un patient ou d'en réduire les risques de survenue, notamment chez un patient susceptible d'être frappé d'accident cérébro-vasculaire ou d'accident secondaire. On utilise, dans le cadre de cette méthode, une combinaison de dipyridamole, d'acide acétylsalicylique et d'un antagoniste de l'angiotensine II. L'invention concerne également les compositions pharmaceutiques correspondantes ainsi que l'utilisation de dipyridamole aux fins de la production d'une composition contenant une combinaison de dipyridamole, d'acide acétylsalicylique et d'un antagoniste de l'angiotensine II.
