ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to the use of dipyrido[4,3-b][3,4-f]indoles of the formula Image I in which: R1 is hydrogen, the hydroxyl group, a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C1-C6 alkylthio group, a C1-C6 alkoxy group, a halogen, preferably chlorine, or an amino group which is unsubstituted or substituted by a group of the formula Image in which R3 and R4, which are identical or different, are each hydrogen or a C1-C6 alkyl radical, R5 is hydrogen or a C1-C6 alkyl radical and n is an integer from 1 to 10; and R2 is hydrogen or a C1-C4 alkyl group, and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts for the preparation of drugs useful in the treatment of AIDS.
