Disclosed herein is a drug for increasing or stimulating appetite in a patient, which comprises an effective amount of a certain growth hormone secretagogue, a prodrug thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the secretagogue or the prodrug. More preferably, the growth hormone secretagogue is a compound of Formula I: (see formula I) (in which HET is a heterocyclic moiety; R3 is alkyl or the like; R4 is H, alkyl or the like; X4 is H or alkyl; R6 is a bond, alkylene or the like; R7 and R8 are H, alkyl or the like) such as 2-amino-N-[2-(3a-(R)-benzyl-2-methyl-3-oxo-2,3,3a,4,6,7- hexahydropyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridin-5-yl)-l-(R)-benzyloxymethyl-2- oxo-ethyl]isobutylamide, a prodrug thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the secretagogue or the prodrug.
