A method of treating oral cancer is provided. The method comprises the steps of providing at least one photody-namic treatment comprising the steps of (i) applying a composition comprising improved toluidine blue to oral cells; wherein the composition comprises a greater percentage by weight of the conformational isomers of toluidine blue compared to the N--demethylated derivatives thereof; and wherein the composition localizes to oral cancer cells,- and activating the applied composi-tion, thereby killing the oral cancer cells.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de traitement d'un cancer oral. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à administrer au moins un traitement photodynamique comprenant les étapes consistant à (i) appliquer une composition comprenant du bleu de toluidine amélioré à des cellules orales ; la composition comprenant un pourcentage plus important en poids d'isomères de conformation du bleu de toluidine par comparaison à ses dérivés N-déméthylés ; et la composition se localisant sur les cellules cancéreuses orales, et activant la composition appliquée, tuant ainsi les cellules cancéreuses orales.
