L'invention concerne l'utilisation pour la teinture de matières kératiniques d'au moins un colorant répondant à la formule: Image (I) dans laquelle R1 représente un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupement alkyle inférieur ou un groupement SiR11R12R13; R2 et R3, identiques ou différents, représentent un atome d'hydrogène ou bien un groupement alkyle, un groupement carboxyle, un groupement alcoxy carbonyle inférieur ou un groupement -COOSiR11R12R13; R4, R5, R6 et R7, identiques ou différents, représentent un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupement O-Z, Z représentant un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupement alkyle, linéaire ou ramifié, en C1-C20, un groupement aralkyle, un groupement formyle, un groupement acyle en C2-C20, linéaire ou ramifié, un groupement alcénoyle en C3-C20, linéaire ou ramifié, un groupement SiR11R12R13, un groupement -P(O)(OR8)2, ou un groupement R8OSO2-; ou bien R4 et R5, R5 et R6, ou R6 et R7 forment conjointement avec les atomes de carbone auxquels ils sont rattachés, un cycle contenant éventuellement un groupement carbonyle, un groupement thiocarbonyle, un groupement ?P(O)(OR8) ou un groupement ?CR9R10; sous réserve qu'au moins deux des restes des radicaux R4 à R7 représentent un groupement OZ ou forment un cycle et qu'au moins l'un des radicaux R4 ou R7 représente un groupment OZ; R8 et R9 représentant un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupement alkyle inférieur, R10 représentant un groupement alcoxy inférieur ou un groupement mono- ou dialkylamino, R11, R12 et R13, identiques ou différents, représentant des groupements alkyle inférieurs, linéaires ou ramifiés; et les sels correspondants de métaux alcalins, alcalino-terreux, d'ammonium et d'amines. Les composés de formule (I) sont particulièrement utiles pour la teinture des cheveux humains, de la peau ou des fourrures.
