This invention relates to Brassica plants and methods of breeding Brassica plants. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of molecular markers for determining the genotype of the Ogura Rf gene in Brassica plants at an early stage in their development. The method involves using a combination of primers derived from RAPD markers in PCR reactions to allow discrimination between homozygous, heterozygous and non-restorer or sterile genotypes. Also disclosed are combinations of primers which allow such discrimination.
La présente invention se rapporte aux plantes Brassica et à leurs procédés de sélection. Plus particulièrement, cette invention concerne l'utilisation des marqueurs moléculaires pour déterminer le génotype du gène Rf Ogura chez les plantes Brassica, à un stade précoce de leur croissance. Ce procédé consiste à utiliser une combinaison d'amorces, dérivées de marqueurs RADP dans des réactions ACP, permettant de distinguer les génotypes homozygotes, hétérozygotes, et les génotypes non restaurateurs ou stériles. Enfin, cette invention concerne des combinaisons d'amorces permettant d'établir une telle distinction.
