Neuregulins, especially neuregulin-.beta. and the substances that influence the status, that is the expression and/or posttranslational modification of neuregulin-.beta. can therefore be used as agents for controlling the progression of neuronal diseases, for treating and/or mitigating such diseases, for example morbus Alzheimer.
