The invention relates to a method for determining luminescent molecules by means of optical stimulation in confocal measuring volumes, using a diffractive optical element. The inventive method is especially suitable for determining single molecules, e.g. by means of fluorescence correlation spectroscopy or by means of dynamic light scattering. The invention also relates to a device which is suitable for carrying out the inventive method.
