The invention relates to the use of at least one (perfluoroalkyl)-ethylene of the formula RF-CH=CH2, wherein RF represents a linear or branched perfluoroalkyl radical containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, as a blowing agent and/or insulating gas in the manufacture of polymer foams. The invention also relates to polymer foams expanded using a compound of the formula (I). Unlike CFC 11, 12 and 113, (perfluoroalkyl)-ethylenes are not liable to deplete the stratospheric ozone.

L'invention concerne l'utilisation d'au moins un (perfluoroalkyl)-éthylène de formule: RF-CH=CH2 dans laquelle RF représente un radical perfluoroalkyle, linéaire ou ramifié, contenant de 1 à 6 atomes de carbone, comme agent d'expansion et/ou gaz d'isolation dans la fabrication des mousses de polymères. L'invention concerne également des mousses de polymères expansées au moyen d'un composé de formule (I). Contrairement au CFC 11, 12 et 113, les (perfluoro-alkyl)-éthylènes ne sont pas susceptibles de dégrader l'ozone stratosphérique.
