The PAF antagonists may, for example, be selected from synthetic PAF analogues, natural products isolated from plants having PAF antagonist activity, and triazolobenzodiazepines. The PAF antagonists are preferably applied topically to the afflicted site but systemic such as oral, parenteral, nasal and intrarectal administration, is also possible.
