The invention concerns the sphere of cross-linking and functionalizing reaction catalysis of polymer chains e.g. combined with silicon. In particular the invention discloses the use of novel platinum based catalytic systems that are heat activatable, homogeneous, stable, long lasting and highly efficient as catalysts. The reagents involved are polyorganosiloxanes (POS) SiH and POS SiVi. The platinum complexes employed are, for example, as in (A).
