The invention provides a method of increasing fiber digestion in ruminants by providing a feed additive or feed composition comprising at least one protease. Specifically, the invention provides a method of increasing digestibility of a forage or a grain feed comprising providing at least one protease; providing a forage or a grain feed suitable for a ruminant animal; applying the protease to the forage or the grain feed; and administering the composition to the animal, whereby an increase in digestibility is effected. The invention further extends to feed additives and feed compositions comprising proteases, preparations and uses thereof.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'accroître la digestion de fibres chez des ruminants au moyen d'un additif alimentaire ou d'une composition alimentaire renfermant au moins une protéase. Spécifiquement, cette invention concerne un procédé propre à améliorer la digestibilité du fourrage ou d'une alimentation à base de grains, qui comprend au moins une protéase, et qui consiste à : donner un fourrage ou une nourriture à base de grains à un ruminant, appliquer la protéase sur le fourrage ou la nourriture à base de grain ; et à administrer la composition à l'animal, de manière à obtenir une amélioration de la digestibilité. L'invention concerne en outre des additifs alimentaires et des compositions alimentaires renfermant des protéases, des préparations contenant lesdits additifs ou compostions, et leurs utilisations.
