The present invention relates to methods for the stratification of individuals suffering from cancer. In particular, the present invention relates to the finding that PTA-fragments allow the discrimination of cancer cells being susceptible to an anti-endocrine therapy from cancer cells not susceptible to said therapy. Thus, PTA-fragments can be a surrogate for estradiol receptor detection by immune histology, can be a marker to monitor resistance of cancer cells towards anti-estradiol therapy, can be used to monitor rezidives and can be used to determine the status of dedifferentiation, e.g. the state of cancer cells. PTA-fragments have the advantage to be determined from easily accessible patient samples such as serum or plasma. The present invention further encompasses specific PTA peptides and nucleic acids, antibodies therefore, test kits and diagnostic and therapeutic methods and compositions.
L'invention concerne des procédés de stratification d'individus souffrant de cancer. Plus précisément, l'invention concerne la découverte selon laquelle des fragments de PTA permettent de distinguer des cellules cancéreuses susceptibles de répondre à une thérapie anti-endocrine des cellules cancéreuses non susceptibles de répondre à une telle thérapie. Par conséquent, des fragments PTA peuvent être un substitut destiné à la détection du récepteur d'estradiol par histologie immune, peuvent être un marqueur permettant de surveiller la résistance de cellules cancéreuses à la thérapie anti-estradiol, peuvent être utilisés pour surveiller des récidives et peuvent être utilisés pour déterminer l'état de la dédifférenciation, par exemple, l'état des cellules cancéreuses. Les fragments PTA présentent un caractère avantageux en ce qu'ils peuvent être déterminés à partir d'échantillons faciles d'accès prélevés chez des patients, tels que le sérum ou le plasma. L'invention concerne, en outre, des peptides et des acides nucléiques spécifiques de PTA, des anticorps de ceux-ci, des kits de test et des méthodes diagnostiques et thérapeutiques et des compositions.
