The present invention provides use of compounds which are polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) derivatives of formula (I), in the form of racemates, stereoisomers or mixtures of stereoisomers, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, or solvates thereof, wherein -AIk- is -(CH2)4-CH(OR2)-[trans]CH=CH-[cis]CH=CH-, -(CH2)4-[cis]CH=CH- [trans]CH=CH-CH(OR2)-, -CH(OR2)-[trans]CH=CH-[cis]CH=CH-CH2- [cis]CH=CH-(CH2)3-, -(CH2)3-CH(OR2)-[trans]CH=CH-[cis]CH=CH-CH2- [cis]CH=CH-, or -(CH2)3-[cis]CH=CH-CH2-[cis]CH=CH-[trans]CH=CH- CH(OR2)-; R1 is a hydrogen atom; or R1 is a C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C2-C6 alkynyl, C6-C10 aryl, 5- to 10-membered heteroaryl, C3-C7 carbocyclyl or 5- to 10-membered heterocyclyl group; or R1 is a group of formula -CH2-CH(OR3)-CH2-(OR4), wherein R3 and R4 are each independently hydrogen atoms or -(C=O)-R6, wherein R6 is an aliphatic group having from 3 to 29 carbon atoms; or R1 is a group of formula -(CH2OCH2)mOH, wherein m is an integer of from 1 to 200; or R1 is a drug moiety; each R2 is the-same or different- and each independently represents a hydrogen atom; or a group -(C=O)-R5, wherein R5 is a C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C2-C6 alkynyl, C6- C10 aryl, 5- to 10-membered heteroaryl, C3-C7 carbocyclyl or 5- to 10-membered heterocyclyl group, or R5 is an aliphatic group having from 3 to 29 carbon atoms, or R5 is a drug moiety; or a group of formula -(CH2OCH2)nOH, wherein n is an integer of from 1 to 200; or a drug moiety; and wherein said alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl and aliphatic groups are the same or different and are each unsubstituted or substituted with 1, 2 or 3 unsubstituted substituents which are the same or different and are selected from halogen atoms and C1-C4 alkoxy, C2-C4 alkenyloxy, C1-C4 haloalkyl, C2-C4 haloalkenyl, C1-C4 haloalkoxy, C2-C4 haloalkenyloxy, hydroxyl, -SR', and -NR'R" groups where R' and R" are the same or different and represent hydrogen or unsubstituted C1-C2 alkyl; said aryl, heteroaryl, carbocyclyl and heterocyclyl groups are the same or different and are each unsubstituted or substituted by 1, 2, 3 or 4 unsubstituted substituents which are the same or different and are selected from halogen atoms, and cyano, nitro, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C2-C4 alkenyl, C2-C4 alkenyloxy, C1- C4 haloalkyl, C2-C4 haloalkenyl, C1-C4 haloalkoxy, C2-C4 haloalkenyloxy, hydroxyl, C1-C4 hydroxyalkyl, -SR' and -NR'R" groups wherein each R' and R" is the same or different and represents hydrogen or unsubstituted C1-C4 alkyl; in the manufacture of a medicament for use in treating or preventing nerve damage in a mammal.
La présente invention concerne l'utilisation de composés qui sont des dérivés d'acide gras poly-insaturé (PUFA) de la formule (I), sous la forme de racémates, de stéréo-isomères ou de mélanges de stéréo-isomères, ou des sels de qualité pharmaceutique ou des solvates de ceux-ci, où -AIk- est -(CH2)4-CH(OR2)-[trans]CH=CH-[cis]CH=CH-, -(CH2)4-[cis]CH=CH- [trans]CH=CH-CH(OR2)-, -CH(OR2)-[trans]CH=CH-[cis]CH=CH-CH2- [cis]CH=CH-(CH2)3-, -(CH2)3-CH(OR2)-[trans]CH=CH-[cis]CH=CH-CH2- [cis]CH=CH-, ou -(CH2)3-[cis]CH=CH-CH2-[cis]CH=CH-[trans]CH=CH- CH(OR2)- ; R1 est un atome d'hydrogène ; ou R1 est un groupe alkyle en C1-C6, alcényle en C2-C6, alcynyle en C2-C6, aryle en C6-C10, hétéroaryle à 5 à 10 chaînons, carbocyclyle en C3-C7 ou hétérocyclyle à 5 à 10 chaînons ; ou R1 est un groupe de formule -CH2-CH(OR3)-CH2-(OR4), où R3 et R4 représentent chacun indépendamment des atomes d'hydrogène ou -(C=O)-R6, où R6 est un groupe aliphatique ayant de 3 à 29 atomes de carbone ; ou R1 est un groupe de formule -(CH2OCH2)mOH, où m est un entier de 1 à 200 ; ou R1 est une fraction de médicament ; chaque R2 étant identique ou différent et chacun représentant indépendamment un atome d'hydrogène ; ou un groupe -(C=O)-R5, où R5 est un groupe alkyle en C1-C6, alcényle en C2-C6, alcynyle en C2-C6, aryle en C6- C10, hétéroaryle à 5 à 10 chaînons, carbocyclyle en C3-C7 ou hétérocyclyle à 5 à 10 chaînons, ou R5 est un groupe aliphatique ayant de 3 à 29 atomes de carbone, ou R5 est une fraction de médicament ; ou un groupe de formule -(CH2OCH2)nOH, où n est un entier de 1 à 200 ; ou une fraction de médicament ; et où lesdits groupes alkyle, alcényle, alcynyle et aliphatique sont identiques ou différents et sont chacun non substitués ou substitués par 1, 2 ou 3 substituants non substitués qui sont identiques ou différents et sont choisis parmi des atomes d'halogène et des groupes alcoxy en C1-C4, alcényloxy en C2-C4, haloalkyle en C1-C4, haloalcényle en C2-C4, haloalcoxy en C1-C4, haloalcényloxy en C2-C4, hydroxyle, -SR' et -NR'R'' où R' et R'' sont identiques ou différents et représentent l'hydrogène ou l'alkyle en C1-C2 non substitué ; lesdits groupes aryle, hétéroaryle, carbocyclyle et hétérocyclyle sont identiques ou différents et sont chacun non substitués ou substitués par 1, 2, 3 ou 4 substituants non substitués qui sont identiques ou différents et sont choisis parmi des atomes d'halogène, et des groupes cyano, nitro, alkyle en C1-C4, alcoxy en C1-C4, alcényle en C2-C4, alcényloxy en C2-C4, haloalkyle en C1-C4, haloalcényle en C2-C4, haloalcoxy en C1-C4, haloalcényloxy en C2-C4, hydroxyle, hydroxyalkyle en C1-C4, -SR' et -NR'R'' où chaque R' et R'' sont identiques ou différents et représentent l'hydrogène ou l'alkyle en C1-C4 non substitué. L'invention concerne également la fabrication d'un médicament pour une utilisation dans le traitement ou la prévention d'une lésion à un nerf chez un mammifère.
