There is disclosed a method for treating chronic hepatitis C infection in patients in need of such treating comprising administering an amount of alpha interferon in association with an amount of ribavirin effective to treat chronic hepatitis C infection with the absence or substantial reduction of side effects associated with administration of ribavirin and alpha interferon.

Cette invention concerne un procédé de traitement de l'infection chronique par le virus de l'hépatite C chez les patients nécessitant un tel traitement. Ledit procédé consiste à administrer une dose d'interféron alpha conjointement à une dose de ribavirine en quantité suffisante pour traiter efficacement l'infection chronique par le virus de l'hépatite C, et ce sans effets secondaires ou avec une réduction importante de tels effets associés à l'administration de ribavirine et d'interféron alpha.
