The invention relates to a method for assessing heart failure in vitro comprising the steps of measuring in a sample the concentration of the marker SFRP-3, of optionally measuring in the sample the concentration of one or more other marker (s) of heart failure, and of assessing heart failure by comparing the concentration determined in for SFRP-3 and the concentration (s) determined for the optionally one or more other marker to the concentration of this marker or these markers as established in a reference population. Also disclosed are the use of SFRP-3 as a marker protein in the assessment of heart failure, a marker combination comprising SFRP-3 and a kit for measuring SFRP-3. The other optimal markers are selected from: natriuretic peptide marker, a cardiac troponin marker, a marker of inflammation, NT-proBNP, and troponin T.
La présente invention concerne un procédé pour évaluer une insuffisance cardiaque in vitro comprenant les étapes consistant à mesurer dans un échantillon la concentration du marqueur SFRP-3, facultativement mesurer dans léchantillon la concentration dun ou plusieurs autre(s) marqueur(s) dinsuffisance cardiaque, et évaluer une insuffisance cardiaque en comparant la concentration déterminée pour SFRP-3 et la/les concentration(s) déterminée(s) pour les ou les autre(s) marqueur(s) éventuel(s) à la concentration de ce marqueur ou ces marqueurs comme déterminé dans une population de référence. La présente invention concerne en outre lutilisation de SFRP-3 en tant que marqueur protéique dans lévaluation de linsuffisance cardiaque, une combinaison de marqueurs comprenant SFRP-3 et un kit pour doser SFRP-3. Les autres marqueurs optimaux sont choisis parmi : un marqueur de peptide natriurétique, un marqueur de troponine cardiaque, un marqueur dinflammation, NT-proBNP et la troponine T.
