L'invention est relative à l'utilisation d'un mimétique de superoxyde dismutase et de glutathion réductase, de préférence le Mangafodipir, pour l'obtention d'un médicament anti-cancéreux. Ledit mimétique permet notamment de potentialiser les effets d'agents antitumoraux générateurs de formes réactives de l'oxygène sur les cellules tumorales, et de protéger les cellules non-tumorales contre ces effets.
