A method of sealing an annulus formed between a casing string (12) and a surface in a well includes: positioning a seal element (36) in the annulus, a swellable material (42) of the seal element being positioned between the casing string and the surface; and flowing cement (16) through a channel formed between the swellable material and the casing string. A method of sealing in a well includes the steps of : positioning an annular seal element comprising a swellable material in the well; and flowing cement into at least one channel (38) formed longitudinally through the seal element. A method of sealing an annulus between two casing strings includes: providing multiple arcuate segments (60), each of the segments comprising a swellable material; and installing the segments in the annulus, each of the segments thereby- occupying a respective circumferential portion of the annulus.
L'invention divulgue un procédé pour rendre étanche un anneau formé entre une colonne de tubage et une surface dans un puits, comprenant: le positionnement d'un élément d'étanchéité dans l'anneau, une matière gonflable de l'élément d'étanchéité étant positionnée entre la colonne de tubage et la surface; et le versage de ciment à travers un canal formé entre la matière gonflable et la colonne de tubage. Un procédé d'étanchéification dans un puits comprend les étapes suivantes: placer dans le puits un élément d'étanchéité annulaire contenant une matière gonflable; et verser du ciment dans au moins un canal formé longitudinalement à travers l'élément d'étanchéité. Un procédé pour rendre étanche un anneau entre deux colonnes de tubage comprend: la disposition de multiples segments courbes, chacun des segments contenant une matière gonflable; et l'installation des segments dans l'anneau, chacun des segments occupant ainsi une partie circonférentielle respective de l'anneau.
