Abstract of the Disclosure A user interface system for a medical test device provides the display of menus in a softkey menu display with a plurality of menu sets to be sequenced through the softkey menu display. A softkey display position is designated as a primary position to display primary functions associated with the primary steps of a test procedure to be implemented using the test device. The user progresses through the primary steps of the procedure by repeatedly selecting the function displayed in the primary position so that the user is intuitively guided through the procedure. 24
