ABSTRACT An electronic fuel injection computer system for an internal combustion engine which is modifiable while installed in and during the operation of said engine to produce a range of fuel delivery curves and/or ignition timing curves to fit said engine. The computer comprising software having a main serial communication program (1) adapted to provide information on selected engine parameters to the user at the request of a control program on an external computer and an engine management program (2). The engine management program being operable during periodic interruption (2A) of the serial communication program by a signal from one or more engine sensors.
