Systems and methods for treating a subsurface formation are described herein. A system for treating a subsurface formation may include a plurality of wellbores in the formation. The system may include at least one heater positioned in at least two of the wellbores. The system may include a self-regulating nuclear reactor. The self-regulating nuclear reactor may function to provide energy to at least one of the heaters to raise the temperature of the formation to temperatures that allow for hydrocarbon production from the formation. A heat input to at least a portion of the formation over time may approximately correlate to a rate of decay of the self-regulating nuclear reactor. A spacing between at least a portion of the plurality of wellbores in the formation may correlate to a rate of decay of the self-regulating nuclear reactor. The self-regulating nuclear reactor may decay at a rate of about 1/E.
L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés de traitement d'une formation souterraine. Un système de traitement d'une formation souterraine comprend une pluralité de trous de forage dans la formation. Le système comprend au moins un élément chauffant positionné dans au moins deux des trous de forage. Le système comprend un réacteur nucléaire autorégulé. Le réacteur nucléaire autorégulé fonctionne de manière à fournir de l'énergie à au moins un des éléments chauffants afin d'élever la température de la formation à des températures permettant la production d'hydrocarbures à partir de la formation. L'apport de chaleur vers au moins une partie de la formation est corrélé approximativement, dans le temps, à la vitesse de décroissance du réacteur nucléaire autorégulé. Un espacement entre au moins une partie de la pluralité des trous de forage de la formation est corrélé à la vitesse de décroissance du réacteur nucléaire autorégulé. Le réacteur nucléaire autorégulé décroît à une vitesse d'environ 1/E.
