ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A utility stool advantageously uses a plastic molded seat member suitably reinforced with a host of different web members with the seat cooperating with an underlying metal support structure to provide effective load transfer from the seat member to the support structure. This arrangement overcomes the problems associated with plastic seat members, which underload, otherwise deform substantially. This deformation causes the user to suspect the structural integrity of the stool. Although additional bracing members are required, they also serve to interconnect and brace the legs while providing simplified securement of the seat to the leg members, such that the cost is not significantly affected. Furthermore, the use of the plastic molded seat results in a significant cost advantage over the use of prior art wooden, or wooden product seats.
