UV-ABSORBING EXTENDED-WEAR LENSES Abstract of the Disclosure There are provided extended-wear lenses formed by polymerizing an organosilicon monomer, a fluoroorgano monomer, a hydrophilic monomer, and a crosslinking agent. The product includes a benzotriazole and/or a benzophenone UV-absorbing agent and is is easily machinable to any prescription, permitting continuous wear, with high oxygen permeability and a receding contact angle of less than 45°C. The bulk of the monomer content is the fluoorgano monomer and/or organosilicon monomer, which content is limited to 40 parts by weight, with lesser amounts being preferred.
