The V.E.C. (canine-powered vehicle) is shaped like a scooter. It has two acrobatic bicycle type wheels, one measuring twenty inches at the rear and the other measuring twenty-four inches at the front, cantilever brakes, and a steel arc attached to the head tube used to attach the harness of the tractor dogs. Its non-slip foot step supports the weight of the driver, who can be driven by dogs, or by pushing off the ground with the foot, help to propel the vehicle. Owing to its narrow width, the vehicle can be driven on trails that previously were not accessible to this type of vehicle: cross-country ski trails, mountain bike trails, etc. The vehicle can be used in any season and on any terrain, like mountain bikes. The vehicle can even be used without dogs to go down hills owing to its centre of gravity being a few inches off the ground.

Le V.E.C. (véhicule à énergie canine) ressemble à une trottinette de par sa forme. Il possède deux roues de Type: "vélo acrobatique", une de vingt pouces à l'arrière et une de vingt-quatre pouces à l'avant, de freins à cantileviers, et un arceau en acier fixé au tube de direction servant à attacher l'harnachement des chiens tracteurs. Son marche-pied antidérapant supporte le poids du conducteur qui peut se laisser tirer par ses chiens, ou d'une poussée d'un pied sur le sol, aider ceux-ci à l'essor du mouvement du véhicule. Ce véhicule peut même être utilisé sans attelage pour la descente de montagne grâce à son centre de gravité abaissé à quelques pouces du sol.
