Abstract of the Disclosure A novel vaccine for use in the immunotherapy of neo- plastic disease is prepared by a procedure wherein cancerous tissue is surgically removed from a patient to be treated and the tissue is disaggregated into its component cells which are then suspended in water and subjected to hydrodynamic turbulence sufficient to disrupt the cells. The "cell disruption material", possessing cancer-specific antigen, and which comprises cell surface membranes and in some cases also intracellular particles, is mixed with a source manganous ion (e.g., manganese hydrogen phosphate gel) and, optionally, a macromolecular polysaccharide carbohydrate (e.g., methyl cellulose) to produce the vaccine. It is desirable to freeze the vaccine prior to use. After thaw- ing, and subsequent inoculation into the patient, the vaccine promotes regression of the cancer through stimulation of the patient's immune response. -1-
