A liquid or liquid-frozen composition comprising: a modified vaccinia Ankara (MVA) virus or variant or deriva-tive thereof and mannitol, wherein mannitol is the sole stabilization agent of the composition. The mannitol may provide a stabi-lizing effect at 0 to +10°C or in a liquid-frozen composition, for example between -10°C and -30°C or between -20°C and - 23.5°C. The MVA may be used as a vaccine or for use in gene therapy, virotherapy, immunotherapy, or cancer therapy in a mammal, preferably a human.

L'invention porte sur une composition liquide ou liquide congelée comprenant : un virus vaccinia Ankara modifié (MVA) ou variant ou dérivé de celui-ci et du mannitol, le mannitol étant l'unique agent de stabilisation de la composition. Le mannitol peut fournir un effet stabilisant de 0 à +10°C ou dans une composition liquide congelée, par exemple entre -10°C et -30°C ou entre -20°C et -23,5°C. Le MVA peut être utilisé en tant que vaccin ou dans une thérapie génique, une virothérapie, une immunothérapie, ou une thérapie contre le cancer chez un mammifère, de préférence un être humain.
