The present invention relates to efficient devices for administration of pharmaceutical agents into the skin of the human body. In particular the present invention provides devices for vaccination into the skin. The present invention provides a pharmaceutical agent delivery device having skin-piercing portion comprising a solid reservoir medium containing the pharmaceutical agent, wherein the reservoir medium is coated onto the skin piercing portion. alternatively, the skin piercing portion may consist of the solid pharmaceutical agent reservoir medium. The pharmaceutical delivery devices are proportioned such that agent is delivered into defined layers of the skin, and preferred delivery devices comprise skin-piercing portions that deliver the pharmaceutical agent into the epithelium or the dermis. Preferred reservoir media comprise sugars, and in particular stabilising sugars that forms a glass such as lactose, raffinose, trehalose or sucrose. Furthermore, vaccine delivery devices for administration of vaccines into the skin are provided, methods of their manufacture, and their use in medicine.
La présente invention concerne des dispositifs permettant d'administrer efficacement des agents pharmaceutiques à l'homme par voie percutanée, et en particulier des dispositifs de vaccination percutanée. La présente invention a trait à un dispositif d'administration d'agents pharmaceutiques présentant une partie perçant la peau comprenant un milieu réservoir solide contenant l'agent pharmaceutique, ledit milieu réservoir étant appliqué sur la partie perçant la peau. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, la partie perçant la peau se compose du milieu réservoir solide contenant l'agent pharmaceutique. Les dispositifs d'administration d'agents pharmaceutiques sont conçus pour que l'agent soit administré dans certaines couches de la peau ; les dispositifs d'administration préférés comprennent des parties perçant la peau administrant l'agent pharmaceutique à travers l'épithélium ou le derme. Les milieux réservoirs préférés comprennent des sucres, et en particulier des sucres stabilisants qui se vitrifient tels que le lactose, le raffinose, le tréhalose ou le sucrose. L'invention concerne également des dispositifs d'administration de vaccins permettant d'administrer des vaccins par voie percutanée, ainsi que leur procédé de fabrication et leur utilisation dans le domaine médical.
