The present invention is directed to a vacuum bag. The vacuum bag comprises an air-permeable bag having an opening and a collar attached to the bag surrounding the opening. The collar has a first planar surface, a second planar surface opposing the first planar surface, and a retainer opening. The first planar surface is coupled to the air-permeable bag. The second planar surface has at least one void for engaging at least one protrusion on a bag docking assembly when the vacuum bag is properly aligned in the bag docking assembly.
