ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vacuum cleaner having an air non-pervious body in the shape of a closed bellows in the suction chamber thereof whereby the bellows is connected at one end to the dust container, and at the other end to the pressure side of the motor fan unit so that the bellows can selectively be brought into communication with said pressure side so that the bellows compresses said dust container and its contents, and thus increases the filling capacity of the dust container. The running costs of operating a vacuum cleaner is thus substantially reduced.
