A vacuum closure comprises a metal panel (32), typically surrounded by a moulded plastics band (34), the panel having a concave depression (50) with a vacuum release hole (56) located therein. A plug of plastisol material (60) is deposited into the depression so as to form a removable seal for the hole (56). The hole is formed with an upturned annular side wall to form a convergent chimney (58), and the plug is chosen so as to be adherent to the lacquer coating on the underside of the metal panel, but non-adherent to the lacquer coating on the top of the metal panel. The plastisol plug (60) can therefore be removed to release the vacuum within the container via the hole (56), thereby facilitating release of the closure.

L'invention concerne une capsule à vide comprenant un panneau métallique (32) entouré généralement d'une bande de plastique moulée (34), ce panneau présentant une dépression concave (50) pourvue d'un trou (56) pour laisser partir l'air. Un bouchon en plastisol (60) est placé dans la dépression de façon à former un joint d'étanchéité amovible sur le trou (56). Ce trou comporte une paroi latérale annulaire, recourbée vers le haut, qui forme une cheminée convergente (58), et le bouchon est choisi en fonction de sa capacité à adhérer sur la couche de vernis appliquée sur la surface inférieure du panneau métallique, et à ne pas adhérer à la couche de vernis appliquée sur la partie supérieure du panneau métallique. Le bouchon en plastisol (60) peut ainsi être retiré pour laisser partir l'air du réceptacle par le trou (56), ce qui facilite le dégagement de la capsule.
