ABSTRACT In a connector (or adaptor) that acts as a conduit for the filtration of fluids from a monitor, in microbiological analysis, plastic multi-purpose adaptors are generally used. In this invention the adaptor/connector is milled from a solid piece of stainless steel and features a circular flange and a male leur tip. The connector is then bored to create a straight bore channel. The connector is designed to allow filtration through the membrane filter in the monitor at a much faster rate than the traditional plastic adaptors. The one piece construction and ease of sterilization reduces the possibility of the bacterial growth that may adversely affect microbiological results.
