The present invention relates to a molten steel refining method for refining molten steel, the carbon content of which is not more than 0.1 weight %, by blowing oxygen gas for decarburization at a blowing speed so that a cavity, the depth of which is 150 to 400 mm, can be formed on the surface of molten steel in a straight barrel type vacuum refining apparatus in which a straight barrel type vacuum vessel having no vessel bottom and a ladle are arranged. When necessary, the above decarburizing processing conducted by blowing oxygen gas is combined with: an A1 heating process in which A1 added into the vacuum vessel is burned by oxygen gas blown into the vacuum vessel at a blowing speed such that the cavity depth can be 50 to 400 mm; a degassing treatment conducted in a high vacuum condition; a desulfurizing treatment in which a desulfurizing agent is blown into the vacuum vessel; or a burner heating treatment in which a combustion improving agent is blown together with oxygen gas, wherein each treatment except for the high vacuum degassing treatment is conducted in a degree of vacuum of 100 to 400 Torr.
Procédé d'affinage sous vide d'acier en fusion consistant à faire écouler un gaz oxygène dans un acier en fusion refermant au maximum 0,1 % en poids de carbone dans une atmosphère sous vide de 105 à 195 Torr à un débit d'amenée d'oxygène permettant d'obtenir une profondeur de cavité comprise entre 150 et 400 mm dans un installation d'affinage sous vide à tambour droit constituée d'une cuve sous vide sans fond à tambour droit et d'une poche de coulée pour réaliser la décarburation. Si nécessaire, dans ce procédé, le traitement de décarburation est associé au traitement de chauffage de l'aluminium amené dans la cuve sous vide par brûlage avec un gaz oxygène insufflé dans la cuve à une vitesse permettant d'obtenir une profondeur de cavité comprise entre 50 et 400 mm, au traitement de dégazage à ultra-vide, au traitement de désulfuration par insufflation d'un agent de désulfuration dans la cuve sous vide, ou au traitement à la chaleur au moyen d'un brûleur par insufflation dans la cuve d'un support de combustion ainsi que de l'oxygène, chaque traitement étant effectué dans une plage de vide comprise entre 100 et 400 Torr, excepté pour le dégazage à ultravide.
