ROGERS, BERESKIN & PARR C A N A D A TITLE: VACUUM SIZING DEVICE INVENTOR: VITTORIO DeZEN ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure relates to a vacuum sizing device for cooling and sizing plastic extrusions immediately downstream of the extrusion die. The device includes a plurality of pairs of upper and lower sizing elements which are clamped between upper and lower backing members. The elements are shaped to define a passageway through the sizing device having a cross-sectional shape and size corresponding to the required profile shape and size of the extrusion. Vacuum chambers and cooling chambers are provided in the sizing elements.
