A vacuum assisted stick and lath placer has a magazine for holding a stack of elongate members for transverse placement onto an upper surface of a tiered lumber package of longitudinally aligned tiers of lumber. A selectively actuable shear positioned beneath the magazine is selectively horizontally actuable so as to push a bottom-most elongate member from beneath the stack of elongate members into a pickup position along a travel path of a selectively telescoping vacuum pickup. The selectively telescoping vacuum pickup is selectively extendable between a retracted position, a first extended position corresponding to the pickup position, and a second extended position corresponding to the upper surface of the tiered lumber package.

Cette invention concerne dispositif de manutention de lattes à dépression qui comporte un magasin servant à recevoir une pile d'éléments allongés à placer transversalement sur le dessus d'une rame de bois d'oeuvre constituée de piles de bois alignées longitudinalement. Un poussoir disposé sous le magasin est actionné horizontalement pour pousser l'élément allongé au bas de la pile vers une position où il pourra être emporté par un ramasseur télescopique à dépression, ce dernier pouvant occuper successivement une position rétractée, une première position correspondant au point de ramassage et deuxième position à la hauteur du dessus de la rame de bois d'oeuvre.
