VACUUM TRANSFER HEAD ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION Disclosed is a method and device for transferring articles. The device includes an internal eductor system. for creating and drawing a vacuum between the article to be transferred and the transfer device surface. The device reciprocates between a position for receiving the article to be transferred and a position for discharging the article. Provision is made for automatically purging the eductor system of environmental contaminants after the article is discharged.
