The present invention is related to an intravaginal delivery system for the controlled release of drospirenone and an estrogen, optionally also comprising one or more therapeutically active or a health-promoting substance capable of giving and/or enhancing protection against bacterial and fungal infections, and/or enhancing protection against sexually transmitted diseases. The delivery system consists of one or more compartments (2, 4, 5), one of each comprising a core (7) and a membrane (3) encasing the core, said core and membrane essentially consisting of a same or different polymer composition, wherein at least one compartment comprises drospirenone ant at least one compartment which may be the same or different from the one comprising drospirenone, comprises an estrogen or a mixture of drospirenone and an estrogen, and wherein the membrane or the surface of the membrane or at least one of the cores comprises said therapeutically active or a health-promoting substance.

La présente invention porte sur un système d'administration intravaginale pour la libération contrôlée de drospirénone et d'un strogène, comprenant éventuellement en outre une ou plusieurs substances thérapeutiquement actives ou favorisant la santé, capables de conférer et/ou d'améliorer une protection contre des infections bactériennes et fongiques et/ou d'améliorer la protection contre des maladies sexuellement transmissibles. Le système d'administration comprend un ou plusieurs compartiments (2, 4, 5), dont l'un comprend un noyau (7) et une membrane (3) renfermant le noyau, ledit noyau et ladite membrane étant constitués essentiellement de compositions polymères identiques ou différentes, au moins un compartiment comprenant de la drospirénone et au moins un compartiment, qui peut être identique à ou différent de celui comprenant la drospirénone, comprenant un strogène ou un mélange de drospirénone et d'un strogène, et la membrane ou la surface de la membrane ou au moins l'un des noyaux comprenant ladite substance thérapeutiquement active ou favorisant la santé.
