The variable keel for vessels, consists of a blade and a shaft. The deeper the blade is lowered into the water, the bigger the surface of the keel (projecting bar keel) becomes. It provides an effective solution for the problem of balance and sailing stability for a ship. It abolishes and replaces the up-to-now methods used for balance and stability sailing vessels, which are complicated and expensive, i.e.rigid keels, attached permanently to the vessel, rolling weights and stability docks. This invention may be installed on all existing ships. With this new invention we may build ships of any form, especially the cylindrical forms, with all the well known advantages. With the variable keel, we save time, money, materials and especially the small ones - are able to obtain superior balance.
