ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present specification describes and claims a valance for use over a doorway or window. The valance basically comprises an elongate member having a generally U-shaped transverse cross-seaction. The elongate member is preferably formed by extrusion and incorporates axially extending channels for supporting a roller blind, or a roller blind together with curtains. In one embodiment the valance is telescopic to thus be adjustable to a curtain degree. Also incorporated on the roller blind are freely rotatable washers which prevents the blind from jamming during retraction.
