The invention relates to a value document, particularly a banknote (10), comprising an individualizing mark (13, 15) that is applied at least once on the front face (12) and the rear face (14) of the value document, respectively. At least one of the individualizing marks applied to the front face and rear face is applied to the value document by means of a contactless process.
