VALVE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A valve such as a butterfly valve having a seat rigidly contained within a seat retainer. The seat retainer is constructed of a material which is readily attachable to the- valve body. The valve seat which may be of a material which is not readily attachable to the valve body is securely contained within the seat retainer and held in proper relation to the valve body.
