A valve assembly comprising mutually opposed first and second valves (10), each of which comprises a casing (12) in which a through passage (14) is defined, the through passages having, at contiguous ends, internally circumferential valve seats (16) against which respective movable valve members (18) are biased, the respective valve members of the first and second valves engaging one another when the first and second valves are brought together to urge the valve members away from their respective seats to open the first and second valves, a coupling member being provided for holding the first and second valves together wherein means are provided for limiting the travel of the valve member of at least one of the first and second valves away from its valve seat to prevent the valve member of the other of the first and second valves from engaging its valve seat when the first and second valves are together, thus preventing said other of the first and second valves from closing due to the flow of fluid through the valve assembly.

La présente invention concerne un ensemble valve, comprenant des première et seconde valves (10) mutuellement opposées, chacune d'elles comprenant un boîtier (12) dans lequel est défini un passage traversant (14), les passages traversants ayant, au niveau d'extrémités contiguës, des sièges de valve périphériques de façon interne (16) contre lesquels sont sollicités des éléments de valve mobile respectifs (18), les éléments de valve mobile respectifs des première et seconde valves venant en prise l'un avec l'autre lorsque les première et seconde valves sont amenées ensemble à pousser les éléments de valve à distance de leurs sièges respectifs pour ouvrir les première et seconde valves, un élément de couplage étant fourni pour maintenir ensemble les première et seconde valves. Des moyens sont fournis pour limiter le déplacement de l'élément de valve de la première et/ou de la seconde valve loin de son siège de valve, afin d'empêcher l'élément de valve de l'autre valve de venir en prise sur son siège de valve lorsque les première et seconde valves sont ensemble, empêchant ainsi ladite autre première et/ou seconde valve de se fermer du fait de la circulation du fluide à travers l'ensemble valve.
