VALVE ASSEMBLY FOR SHOCK ABSORBER Abstract of the Disclosure: A valve assembly for use with and for reducing the noise in a shock absorber provided with a valve chamber containing a valve cooperating with a valve seat. The valve is held in a preferred position by pretensioning means such as a spring. One or more supply channels lead to the valve seat side of the valve. The valve assembly is provided with a screen offset in the opening direction of the valve in relation to the valve. The screen is of sufficient rigidity to protect the valve against pressure waves of the damping medium in the closing direction of the valve. Accordingly, the direction of the pressure shock in the valve chamber, with respect to the movement of the valve, is opposite to the closing direction of the valve. Thus, the production of valve noise is prevented and the life of the valve and the valve seat is extended. 1a
