The present disclosure relates generally to a valve assembly including a valve body (44) and a poppet member (54) for controlling flow through the valve body. The valve assembly also includes a valve seat (58) adapted to interface with the poppet member to provide a fluid seal, and seat retaining member (60) adapted to be compressed against the valve seat. Additionally, the valve assembly includes a deformable elastic spacer (62) arranged and configured to axially compress the valve body and the seat retaining member together such that relative movement between such components is inhibited.
