ABSTRACT A valve cup for use in an aerosol dispenser is configured to provide an anti-seating feature. In one embodiment, dimples are impressed in the sidewalls of a valve cup to inhibit seating of the valve cup flange on the circular shaped ring around the periph- ery of an opening at one end of the aerosol dispenser. In a second embodiment, detents are placed on the edge of the flange in which the sidewalls of the valve cup terminate to inhibit the seating of the flange on the circular shaped ring.
