The object of the invention is to for a fire fighting installation with a high operating pressure provide a new valve which is reliable without access to electric current and is of a simple structure. The valve has a spindle (6) which is movable between a stand-by position and an activated position. A secondary liquid source (9) with a low pressure acts on the spindle in the direction towards the stand-by position and the pressure of a high pressure liquid source (1) acts via the valve inlet (4) in the opposite direction on a shoulder face (13) formed in the spindle. When the pressure in the secondary liquid source falls due to liquid delivery to a released spray head in the installation has fallen to a predeterminable value the pressure of the high pressure source on the shoulder face (13) drives the spindle to activated position and opens direct connection from the inlet (4) of the valve to its outlet (5).
