A valve includes a valve body and a valve member. The valve body has a fluid passage extending therethrough. A recessed valve seat is axially disposed in the fluid passage in a downstream orientation. The valve member has an upstream directed tip which mates with the valve seat. The tip has an axial pressure port and a deformable annular contact surface. Pressure exerted within the pressure port causes the annular contact surface to deflect outwardly thereby enhancing the seal between the valve member and the valve seat as pressure increases.
