Un dispositif selon l'invention comporte, un bâti rigide (2), un moyen (3) de soutien en rotation de la tige (la) de soupape, disposé fixement et verticalement sur le bâti, une butée (8) d'appui en rotation contre la queue (1c) de soupape, un moyen d'entraînement (9) en rotation de la soupape par sa face avant (1g), disposé verticalement au-dessous du moyen (3) de soutien en rotation, des moyens (19) pour compenser le mésalignement entre l'axe de rotation (20) du moyen (9) d'entraînement en rotation, et l'axe de rotation (14) rigide de la tige (la) de soupape, et un poste (10) d'usinage, monté sur lebâti (2) de manière orientable, pour régler l'axe d'usinage (13) par rapport au référentiel (14) fixe et vertical de la tige (1a) de soupape.
